101st Airmobile 3/506 Shock Force Patch

A rare hand made 3/506 Shock Force Patch. Long Range Recon Patrol. Removed from a uniform, some wear on a cheese cloth backing.

3/506 arrived in country 23 October 1967 departed 15 May 1971. Located in Phan Rang, PhanThiet, Bong Son, Cheo Reo and Hue.

The 3rd Battalion, 506th Infantry was detached from the 101st Airborne Division from January 17, 1968 to August 26, 1970, during which period it was known as Task Force 3-506.
