WWII Third Armourer Division Patch

An early issue Third Armourer Division patch. Used and removed from uniform, with age and service wear. Slightly small than the later war issue at 3 5/8”
Nick name “Hell on Wheels”

The Heavy Tank Battalion division arrived in the European Theatre on 15 September 1943, conducting pre-invasion training near Liverpool and Bristol in Great Britain. It remained in Somerset, England until 24 June 1944, when it departed to partake in the Normandy operations notably in the Battle of Saint-Lô, where it suffered significant casualties. Fought in the Battle of the Bulge and on into Germany.
