1st Corps Formation Sign, Good condition “Tony” penned on the back. Post war German manufactured in bevo weave style.

The design adopts the traditional Corps colours of red and white and the device of a spearhead is symbolic of the fact that First Corps at Aldershot was the only Corps in permanent existence before the War and was therefore the spearhead of the British Army. This badge was adopted in 1940. The Corps was with the BEF in 1940 and thereafter involved in the defene of the UK. It took part in the Overlord invasion of Europe in 1944 and through to the end of war in Germany
