WWII US Army Air Force Senior Pilot Wings

Here we have a scarce USAAF Senior Pilot Wings. In sterling silver, pin back with safety clasp and maker marked by NS Meyer New York. Good strike and good condition.

SENIOR PILOT Rating established on 23 December 1937. Required not less than 5 years service as a rated Pilot with aviation components of the military or naval services and not less than 1,500 hours logged flight time according to War Department records. Only seen on fairly senior ranks Majors and above fliers during WWII.
