Eighth Air Force Grouping - Rattleden

Here we nave a named tunic to a combat Bombardier LT. Gerald Dannewitz with the 447th BG 709th Squadron. Flying B17’s out of station 126 Rattlesden, Suffolk. A member of the W P Tigh crew.
Credited with 30 missions in the ETO.

The tunic is fully badged featuring a rare bullion combat Bombardier wing below is a three piece medal bar with ribbons for the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with clusters and the ETO with campaign star.
Lieutenant rank to the shoulders and Officers aviation branch and US letters to the lapels. Also a bullion Air Corps patch to the left shoulder. Condition overall is good with age and service wear for a tunic of 83 years.
