An Officers 15th Air Force patch in bullion thread. Removed from uniform with lots of patina, service wear and age. Locally made example.

The Forgotten Fifteenth
Established on November 1, 1943, in Tunisia and based in southern Italy, the 15th Air Force was a key Allied strategic bombing force in WWII. Commanded initially by Gen. Jimmy Doolittle, it utilized B-17s and B-24s to attack strategic targets—oil refineries, aircraft factories, and communication lines—across Southern/Eastern Europe, significantly disrupting German efforts before its inactivation in 1945
