WWII Tape Measure with RAAF Pilot Insignia

Now here is an unusual item. A retractable tape measure with am Australian Pilot wing to the front, marked ‘Made in England’ Measures 1 9/16” with a spring loaded retract press button on the back.

Note I have not pulled the tape out to the full length but it is appears to be fully working but no guarantees here and in good overall condition.  read more

The wing is a 1944 example with an aluminum backing plate with a safety pin for easy arraching to a uniform usually in the tropics, stamped into the back id RAAF service number with the name F G Swindley.
